What are implications of ABC-TV recent national coverage of MAD
PRIDE movement? (We'll have copy of the 17 minute piece if anyone
wants to re-watch it at meeting!)
David Oaks, director of MindFreedom, will report back from his trip
this past week to Norway to speak at events and protest sponsored by
oldest "mad movement" group in world: We Shall Overcome.
Discuss MAD PRIDE presence at upcoming Eugene Celebration,
including the MindFreedom booth (if you want to help staff, e-mail lane at mindfreedom.org
).
Brief presentation followed by moderated open discussion with you.
All are welcome!

WHAT IS THIS "MINDFREEDOM 1st WEDNESDAY ROUNDTABLE"?
A home for unconquered minds!
For seven years, this is where free-minded people in Lane County
exchange ideas and mutual support for a nonviolent revolution in
mental health care.
ALL are welcome, especially mental health consumers, psychiatric
survivors and allies.
This will be the 78th successful free monthly First Wednesday Round
Table sponsored by MindFreedom Lane County, an affiliate of MFI, an
independent nonprofit coalition based in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
MindFreedom International, based here in Eugene, unites members,
sponsors and affiliates around the world.
This event is indeed at a round table in the public common room
directly outside the MindFreedom office on the second floor of the
historic Growers Market building by the MFI office.
IS THIS MEETING WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes! Enter through the back dock ramp on the north side of the
building. Please phone ahead to let us know you will are coming,
because the back door is locked. Please phone the office at 345-9106
that you are downstairs, and we'll come down and unlock the door. If
no response, ring door buzzer at front of building, and we'll come
down and help.
WHERE DO I PARK?
* The five (5) parking spots usually directly behind Growers Market
are moved during parking lot reconstruction. These spots are now a few
dozen feet due east of the Amtrak Station complex of buildings. The
Growers Market five (5) reserved parking spots directly face the train
track and are clearly marked with white letter "G."
* We've never heard of a parking meter ticket after 5 pm. All meters
are officially free at 6 pm.
* If these spots are full, there are free parking spaces on any side
street starting one block to the west starting at Charnelton St. north
of Fifth St.
HOW CAN I HELP?
MindFreedom supplies free snacks and beverages. You are welcome to
bring extra if you wish.
