TOPIC: Art, Music, Theater to Change Mental Health Care!

SPEAKER: Psychiatric survivor Steven Bruce from the nonprofit group  
"Life and Universe" will talk about using the arts and music for  
better mental health care!

Brief presentation and news followed by open discussion with YOU  
moderated by David Oaks, MFI director. David will also have news about  
SKITS to change mental health system, and volunteering at Project  
Homeless Connect.

All are welcome, especially mental health consumers and psychiatric  
survivors.

Free snacks and beverages. All are invited – free!

WHAT IS THIS?

Get Northwest of Normal at the MindFreedom First Wednesday Roundtable...

... where free-minded people in Lane County exchange ideas and mutual  
support for a nonviolent revolution in mental health care.

ALL are welcome, especially mental health consumers, psychiatric  
survivors and allies.

Since 2002, this will be the 84th successful free monthly First  
Wednesday Round Table sponsored by MindFreedom Lane County, an  
affiliate of MFI, an independent nonprofit coalition based in Eugene,  
Oregon, USA.

MindFreedom International, based here in Eugene, unites members,  
sponsors and affiliates around the world.

This event is indeed at a round table in the public common room  
directly outside the MindFreedom office on the second floor of the  
historic Growers Market building by the MFI office.

The next First Wednesday after this -- 7 April 2010 -- will feature  
humorist Howard Falk talking about surviving and thriving with a  
diagnosis of autism!

IS THIS MEETING WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes!

If you want to use the wheelchair lift, enter through the back dock  
ramp on the north side of the building facing Amtrak parking lot.

Please phone the office ahead of time 345-9106 to let us know, because  
the dock door is always locked.

If you forget to call ahead, then once you are downstairs call up with  
your cell. If no response, or you have no cell, ring door buzzer by  
front door facing Willamette, and we'll come down and help.

WHERE DO I PARK?

* Growers Market has five (5) reserved parking spots in the Amtrak  
parking lot north of the building, against the west fence. Watch for  
the signs.

* If those are full, we've never heard of a parking meter ticket after  
5 pm. All meters are officially free at 6 pm.

* Tthere are free parking spaces on any side street starting one block  
to the west starting at Charnelton St. north of Fifth St.
