re: Important alert to all Oregonians who care about changing the
mental health system!
Here's an urgent reminder that the State of Oregon Dept. of Human
Services (DHS) is requesting input from you *NOW* about their budget,
including mental health services, for the next few years!!!
DHS is finishing up state-wide public hearings about this about now.
I attended our public hearing locally in Eugene and spoke out. If
anyone else spoke in their local hearing, please let me know.
If you missed the hearings, no problem, if we all act together *NOW*!!
Just *email* your comment to the special DHS e-mail address for
budget input -- SOON:
dhs.budget-input at state.or.us
Include your contact info in your e-mail.
One suggestion:
In your own words strongly but politely encourage significant funding
for the voice, empowerment, self-determination of Oregon's mental
health consumers and psychiatric survivors!
Say something, but say it NOW!
As you may know, for five years Oregon zeroed out all support in the
budget for the state-wide voice of mental health clients.
But there is strength in numbers!
We can change this around if you -- and everyone -- speaks out now.
And ask others to do so, too!
~~~~~~~~~~~
ACT NOW FOR IMPROVEMENT OF OREGON'S MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM!
E-mail your comments, with your contact information, to the State of
Oregon DHS special budget input e-mail address here:
dhs.budget-input at state.or.us
Those not on e-mail can postal mail their comments to:
DHS Budget Input
Department of Human Services
500 Summer St. NE
Salem, OR 97301
Or fax: 503-378-2897
~~~~~~~~~~~
PLEASE FORWARD THIS IMPORTANT INFO both on and off Internet, soon!
